MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
BICYCLE PEDESTRIAN COMMISSION
October 16t", 2013

The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Present: Commissioners Vidula Aiyer, William Chan, Pete Heller, Ashish Kolli, Jill Mitsch
Staff. David Stillman
Others Present: Rob McCoy, Public Safety

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
• Commissioner Kolli provided an update on the Mayor's Commissioner Meeting.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS
• Shailee Samar e- mailed Mr. Stillman to see if the Bicycle Pedestrian. Commission could
assist with funding the Walk- One -Week program. Commissioner Kolli will e -mail Miss
Samar to inform her that the commission cannot fund projects.
• Carol Atwood e- mailed Mr. Stillman to invite the Commission to the Housing,
Community & Longevity Forum on November 5th.
ORDERS OF THE DAY
1) VTA BPAC Jim Wiant was not in attendance to present the report.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
2) The Commission approved the September 1.8th, 2013 minutes. All in favor.
NEW BUSINESS
3) Fall Festival Bike Blender De -brief
a) The Optimist Club shared their booth with the Bicycle Pedestrian Commission at the
Cupertino Fall Festival on September 21St. The Commission had a bike blender
demonstration for the kids. The Conunission will e -mail Mr. Stillman if they are
interested in attending the October 25"' event at Garden Gate.
4) BPC Work Plan Task Prioritization
a) The Commission set the following goals for 2014:
Create Community Bike Survey
Increase attendance in Bike to Work Day
Bike Plan
Children's Activities
Pedestrian Plan Update
5) Merritt /Blaney School Crossing
a) Mr. McCoy will get information on the data for the Blaney and Merritt crosswalk.
Commissioner Aiyer will reach out to the school district regarding the crosswalk.
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
• Prepare survey questions. Hotlist.
