CALL TO ORDER: The Regular Meeting of the Cupertino Housing Commission was called to order at 8:12 a.m. by Commissioner Jimmy Chien 2. ROLL CALL: Present: Vice Chair Krista Wilson, Commissioner Harvey Barnett and Commissioner Jimmy Chien Absent: Chair Rajeev Raman, Commissionf Nicole Maroko Staff present: Christopher "C.J. "'Valenzuela, Senior Housing Planner, Piu Ghosh, Senior Planner 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Approve the September 12, 2013 minutes a:, submitted by staff. Motion: Commissioner Jimmy Chien Second: Commissioner Harvey Barnett Vote: 3 -0 4. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS: None s. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: This portion of the meeting is reserved for persons wishing to address the Commission any matter not on the agenda. Speakers are limited to three (3) minutes. In most cases, State law will prohibit the Commission from making any decisions with respect to a matter not listed on the agenda. None 6. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None 7. NEW BUSINESS: General Plan Housinq Element - Staff provided background information and updates regarding the City of Cupertino's General Plan Housing Element update process. Staff notified and requested participation from the Housing Commission of an upcoming General Plan Housing Element stakeholder meeting. Staff will also follow up with the Housing Commission members who were not present at the meeting to request their participation at the upcoming General Plan Housing Element stakeholder meeting. The Housing Commission did not have any additional comments on this item. Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program — Staff provided the Housing Commission with updates regarding thO upcoming Fiscal Year 2014/15 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and General Fund Human Service Grants (HSG) Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) and Request for Proposal (RFP). Staff also notified the Commission of new CDBG requirements going forward such as annual CDBG subrecipient training. The Housing Commission did not have any additional comments on this item. Page 'I of 2 City of'Cupertino Below Market -Rate (BMR) Program — Staff notified Housing Commission of two new successful BMR for -sale resale transactions.
