Teen 10-02-2013 (special) 'r CUPER'TINO Cupertino Teen Commission Special Meeting Wednesday, October 2, 2013 6:15 pm Quinlan Community Center, Cupertino Room 10185 North Stelling Road, Cupertino CA 95014 APPROVED MINUTES CALL TO ORDER at 6:16 pm PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ROLL CALL Commissioners present: Buvanesh, Doyle, Smithline, Sriraman, Swamy, Trivedi, Prasad, Yun Commissioners tardy: Mol Staff present: Neff COMMUNICATIONS a) Oral b) Written- City of Mountain View will show screening of Bully the movie on 10/24/13 at 7pm at the Center for Performing Arts. Free for all, recommended for ages 13 and up. MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING a) September 11, 2013 Commissioner Buvanesh motions to approve minutes. Commissioner Trivedi seconds. Motion passes unanimously. NEW BUSINESS a) General Plan Amendment- City Planner, Gary Chao- City staff Gary Chao and George Schroeder shared information on the General Plan Amendment for Cupertino. Commissioners are encouraged to attend the 10/23 community workshop to provide input on seven areas of study. b) Review/discuss 2013-2014 work plan items- Commission outlined in detail various ideas to execute for the 2013-2014 term. Final concensus included the following work plan items: Giving Tree, City Social, Intergenerational Event with Cupertino Senior Center and Art Project. c) Back-2-School Bash at the Teen Center- Item C was tabled to the 10/16 meeting due to timing. a. Planning details b. Assign responsibilities d) Review Chair/VC expectations- Commissioners were briefed on expectations and were provided an opportunity to ask questions about positions. Voting will take place at 10/16 meeting. OLD BUSINESS MISCELLANEOUS—NO ACTION REQUIRED ADJOURNMENT At 9:12 pm the Teen Commission adjourned to a SPECIAL MEETING on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 6:15 pm at Quinlan Community Center, Conference Room, 10185 North Stelling Road, Cupertino.
