have Canada geese on the front. She said to please contact the
Senior Center if anyone is interested in joining the team.
Ms. Atwood said the City Council decided not to build a second
bathroom at the new Environmental Education Building at

out for bid yet so they are moving forward with the original design.

B. Commissioner contacts
Commissioner Greenstein reported that he and Commissioner
Paulsen attended The Meadows neighbors' meeting that was
organized by Katy Jensen and Public Works staff, to inform the
residents about the Stevens Creek Trail going through the
Stocklmeir property. The neighbors who attended were very
excited that the trail will finally be completed and believe this to be
an amenity to their community. Commissioner Paulsen said staff
did a great job presenting the project and the neighbors' comments
were very enthusiastic and they were unanimous with their
support. He said before the meeting with the neighbors, he was
invited to attend an informational meeting where the City's
Naturalist, Barbara Banfield and professional botanists discussed
the meadow itself and what: species of grass and wild thistles grow
there. This group may work with the Water District on a plan to
2
rid the area of all the thistles and plant more native plants and trees
to help restore the area.
Commissioner Fung reported that he attended the monthly
Mayor's meeting with the other Commission's Chairs and said the
various Chairs reported on what current projects the Commissions
are working on.
Commissioner Paulsen reported that he is now on the board of the
Friends of Stevens Creek Trail and they are working on a website
that will have geographical information layers about the Trail. He
also attended a Volunteer Fair with the Friends group at Microsoft
in Mountain View and said that most of the people were in favor of
the Trail proposals but that some expressed their concerns. There is
currently a Task Force providing work for the Four Cities group on
policies regarding the Trail and they are looking for an additional
member from each city. They meet in the evening of the first
Thursday of each month.
