CALL TO ORDER
Commissioner Sachs called the meeting to order at 6:15 pm at Quinlan Community
Center 10185 N. Stelling Road, Cupertino, CA 95014.

COMMUNICATIONS
a) Oral- Shailee Samar presented on the @Cupertino program geared at
encouraging teens to shop/ visit Cupertino businesses February 10-12 from 3:00
pm to various times. Flyer is required to receive a discount.
b) Written- Santa Clara County Library Video Challenge information shared
NEW BUSINESS
a) Walk One Week Plans - Representatives from Saratoga Youth Commission in
attendance with questions about program logistics. Commissioners divided into
groups for WOW in Cupertino for proposed week of April 9-13, 2012.

a. Video planning with communication team

b. T-shirt voting- commissioners reminded about SurveyMonkey voting
assignment
c. Workshop presentations
i. WOW group presented outline of their proposed workshop
ii. Tolerance of Failure group presented outline of their proposed
workshop
d. 2/7 City Council presentation- Commissioners Szeto, Sachs, Puranik, and
Ding will be presenters at the upcoming Council meeting
c) January 13 event debriefing- Commissioners agreed the event was successful.
The amount of people in attendance made for an overall more enjoyable
experience.
OLD BUSINESS
a) Teen Center promotion update: YouTube video- Commissioner Szeto suggested
creating a Facebook event for people to watch the video and "like" the Teen
Center page.
b) Giving Tree reflection- commissioners felt the event was hectic due to the
amount of people available to help. They also felt it would be helpful to have
flexibility to help in other areas of the event rather than the gift wrapping
stations.

ADJOURNMENT
At 8:40 pm the Teen Commission adjourned to a REGULAR MEETING on Wednesday,
February 8, 2012 at 6:15 pm to be held at Cupertino City Hall.
