CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Robert Harrison called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. in Conference Room A,
10300 Torre Avenue, Cupertino and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL
Present: Chairperson Robert Harrison; Vice-Chair Nancy Canter; and Commissioners Michael
Harkins, K.C. Chandratreya, and Jesse Kaur. City Staff present: City Clerk Kimberly Smith.
Absent: Commissioners
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. Minutes of March 1 and March 20, 2007.
ChandratreyalKaur moved and seconded to approve the minutes of March 1 as presented.
The motion carried unanimously.
Canter/Harkins moved and seconded to approve the minutes of March 20 as presented.
The motion carried unanimously.
COMMISSION REORGANIZATION
2. Appoint the 2007 Vice-Chairperson
Kaur nominated Nancy Canter for a second term as Vice-Chairperson. The nominations
were closed and the Canter was appointed by acclamation.

Chairman Harrison re-ordered the agenda to discuss item No.5 last.
6. Status report on the policy for commercial sale of art displayed on city property.
The City Clerk stated that she was working on a simplified version that would be easy to
understand by individuals who wished to display and sell art.
7. Discussion of sculpture garden and/or sculpture locations in community.
The City Clerk noted that this item was placed on the agenda in error, and was actually
scheduled for discussion at the meeting of June 26.

9. Review of current ad hoc committee list and 2007 work plan
The commissioners reviewed the committee list. Chairman Harrison noted that the name
of the Cupertino Jubilee event had been officially changed to the Cupertino Fall Festival.

10. Arts-related news updates from Commissioners
11. Report from Mayor's meeting with commissions, and confirm representative(s) to attend

future meetings (these occur the 2n Wednesday of each month at 8:00 a.m.).
Chandratreya reported on the Mayor's meeting of May 9. Commissioners volunteered to
attend future meetings as noted below:
· May 9 - Robert Harrison
· June 13 - K.C. Chandratreya
· July 11 - Nancy Canter
NEWS ARTICLES
15. Media coverage
The commissioners agreed that they would like to continue to receive copies of arts-related
articles in local news media as long as the task did not become a burden on staff time.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS (continued)
5. Preparation of a Percent-for-Art ordinance and "developer's guidelines" document.
The commissioners reviewed the public art guidelines from the City of Sunnyvale as well
as the City of Cupertino Guidelines for the Selection of Public Art, and made suggestions
for changes and additions, using the Sunnyvale documents as a guide. The City Clerk
stated that she would make those changes in red text and redistribute the documents via
email, so that the commissioners could continue making edits to bring to the June meeting.

At 9:30 p.m. the meeting was adjourned.
The next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, June 26, at 7:00 p.m.
