Call for Order
Meeting called to order by Chairperson Sheila Mohan at 7:30 p.m.

Minutes of March 21, 2000 meeting approved as read.

New Business
*Electronic Discussion Group
Commissioner Minow led discussion in regard to City Attorney's opinion.
Commissioners agreed that for now issue is resolved.
*Teen programs
Commissions Stakey expressed her interest in programming for teenagers. She offered
to follow-up on any ideas that may come to commission in future. Cupertino Library is
already pursuing one of Commission Stakey's ideas to have an art program for teens, as
well as a dance program this summer on hip hop.
Old Business
Legislative Update
Commissioner Minow and County Library Fuller will be attending Legislative Day
April 25, 2000 in Sacramento.
Sister Libraries
Commissioner Wu reported on publicity she encouraged in the local Chinese language
newspaper, World Journal. The exhibit will be on display until the end of the month.

Kathy Stakey reported on the Mayor's Breakfast. Commissioner Pow will attend next
breakfast.
Calendar Distribution
No report.
Coun _ty Librarian's Report
JPA meeting will take place April 27, 2000. Issues to be considered will be Budget and
reaffirmation of Internet policy.
County Library visiting a number of legislators to discuss return of property tax.
System Legislative Breakfast will take place Saturday, May 6, 2000. Subject will be
discussion of a state library poll.
Commissioners' comments and agenda building
Commissioner Minow spoke about a speaker from DeAnza College who specializes in
environmental building studies. He will be invited to the Building Committee.
Commissioner Minow indicated the Commissioner is covered under liability insurance.
