Drop-in Internet classes on Saturday mornings from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. began
on October 27, 2001. The classes will be kept to a maximum of 5 students, and are open
to the first 5 people who sign up at the adult reference desk at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday
mornings. There have been 4 Saturday opportunities so far for drop-in classes. On
October 27th, the drop-in class had 2 attendees. There haven't been people showing up for
the classes since then, but staff will continue to offer the opportunity each Saturday
morning. Staff members are happy to offer these small, personalized classes for our
library users, as we offer the twice-weekly tours/online catalog demonstrations.
One Intemet class in Mandarin Chinese has also been held. The classes in
Mandarin Chinese must be scheduled in advance through the adult reference desk.
The travel slide program on Rajasthan - Land of Kings, held last evening, had 15
people in attendance. Those who attended enjoyed the panoramic views that were
provided by the simultaneous use of two slide projectors.
Children's Librarians are planning a Harry Potter Trivia program on Thursday
afternoon, December 27th.
There will be no storytimes during the last week of December and the first week
in January. Storytimes will begin again the week of January 7th.
