7. Director reviewed current status of Sports Center operations. He informed Commission that staff sent
out an R.F.P. for Tennis Instruction Services.
Resident Lorayne Wilkey (11115 La Paloma Drive) requested information regarding tennis lesson
programs.
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
8. Commissioner Hopkins moved and Commissioner Lohmiller seconded a motion to approve the
minutes of the May 5, 1994 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting. All in favor. Motion passed.

10. Director acknowledged Commissioner Lohmiller's receipt of the CREST award.

There was no Mayor's luncheon report
Director informed Commissioners of the suicide incident that occurred at McClellan Ranch Park. The
McClellan Ranch Task Force Committee met and is looking at the job responsibilities of the McClellan
Ranch Park Caretaker position and will come up with a job description. There will be a competitive
application process. "As you recall there was a presentation from a consortium of people on the Ropes
Course idea. It turns out the Linda Vista site is not acceptable for a number of reasons in their view and
they are asking that consideration be given to placing it at McClellan Ranch Park. This was presented
to the Committee last week. It will be looked at and come back to the Commission with a
recommendation from the McClellan Ranch Task Force Committee."
ADJOURNMENT
15. Commissioner Lohmiller moved and Commissioner Hopkins seconded the motion to adjourn at
7:42p.m. to the regularly scheduled meeting of Parks and Recreation Commission on July 7, 1994, 7:00
p.m., Council Chambers.
