1. Regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission called to order at 7:00 p.m.

5. Commissioner Lohmiller made a motion to nominate Commissioner Quinlan for Chairperson for 1995-
1996. Commissioner Hopkins seconded the nomination. All in favor. Quinlan abstained.
6. Commissioner Hendrickson made a motion to nominate Commissioner Buhler for Vice-Chairperson for
1995-1996. Commissioner Lohmiller seconded the nomination. All in favor. Buhler abstained.

NEW BUSINESS
9. Director reported on the status of the Fremont Older buildings as a result of the frequency and intensity
of the January rains. It was determined by the chief building official that the buildings needed to be
vacated immediately. After an assessment of the buildings by the Public Works Department, it was
determined that it would not be economically viable to move back into the buildings. The Fremont
Older Master Plan Task Force will meet to discuss how quickly and appropriately to remove the main
building structure.

10. Commissioner Hendrickson moved and Commissioner Lohmiller seconded a motion to approve the
minutes of the January 5, 1995 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting. All in favor. Motion
approved.

11. Commission reviewed letter form Sharon Huntsman, Silicon Valley Joint Venture, thanking Julia Lamy
for all her help with the video project.
MONTHLY REPORTS
12. Director had nothing to add to the January monthly report.
13. There were no community contacts.
MISCELLANEOUS
14. There was no legislative update.
15. Commissioner Hendrickson reported on the Mayor's breakfast meeting.
16. Director reminded Commissioners of upcoming Commissioner's dinner. He also reported on the
conflict of interest and code of ethics for Commissioners. Director stated that CPRS District IV was
honoring two volunteer organizations in the community for their contributions. They are going to
recognize the Rotary Club for a fantastic effort in restoring the gazebo in Memorial park and the
Highway 85 Celebration Committee for all their work in making that day something to remember.
Director also reminded commissioners of the upcoming CPRS District IV conference in San Jose.

17. Commissioner Hendrickson moved and Commissioner Buhler seconded the motion to adjourn at 7:39
p.m. to the adjourned regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission on Wednesday, March
1 1995, 7:00 p.m. Council Chambers. All in favor. Motion carried.
