NEW BUSINESS
Tour of
Director Dowling introduced Diane Snow, Recreation Supervisor for the Senior Center. Diane then senior
escorted the commissioners on a tour throughout the Senior Center pointing out areas that are in need of center
improvements and expansion.
Ms. Snow stated that senior citizens are active people who like to exercise, hike and travel. She said they Senior
have many senior volunteers daily at the Senior Center. Center
Expansion
Mr. Dowling stated the staff quarters were undersized and employees and volunteers needed more
flexible space in which to work. Director reviewed the space allocation program for the renovation
project.
Mr. Dowling presented samples of evaluation forms from the Quinlan Center, Blackberry Farm and the
Senior Center explaining the procedure for each of the forms.
Commissioner Lohmiller moved and Commissioner Hopkins seconded the motion to approve the
minutes of the October 1, 1998 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting as submitted. All in favor.

11. Director Dowling reviewed the October and November Monthly Reports.

14. Mr. Dowling mentioned the upcoming CPRS District IV. Conference to be held February 18-21, 1999.
Mr. Dowling reminded the commissioners of the Special Meeting of the Planning Commissioners and
the Parks and Recreation Commissioners to be held Saturday, December 12, 1998, 9:00 a.m. at
McClellan Ranch. No action will be taken.
15. Chairman Jelinch moved to adjourn at 8:13 p.m. to the regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation
Commission on Thursday, January 7, 1999, 7:00 p.m. at Cupertino City Hall, 10300 Torre Avenue,
Cupertino, California 95014. All in favor. Motion passed.
