Regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission called to order at 7:09 p.m.

NEW BUSINESS
1. Director Dowling reported on the current status of the Cupertino Sports Center building.
Director outlined four possible strategies: 1) new tennis/fitness building with a new pool
complex, 2) new tennis/fitness building with a teen "drop-in" room, 3) new two-story
building for termis/fitness and gym, 4) new tennis/fitness building. A committee will be
formed to determine the community needs before being presented to City Council.
Commissioner Cook moved and Commissioner Stein seconded the motion to approve the
minutes of April 6, 2000 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting as submitted. All in favor.
MOTION: 3-0
3. None.
4. Director Dowling reported the Big Bunny Fun Rrm was successful with registered
participants from 4 to 81 years old.
5. Commissioner Cook reported she had received comments of appreciation from residents
regarding the Kennedy Jr. High pedestrian gate.

Commissioner Stein moved and Commissioner Cook seconded to adjourn at 7:40 p.m. to
the regular' meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission on Thursday, June 1, 2000, 7:00
p.m., at Cupertino City Hall, 10300 Torre Avenue, Cupertino, California 95014. All in favor.
