PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION
June 9, 2005

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES - May 12, 2005, regular meeting - Deferred
OLD BUSINESS
1. Commission Goals for 2005
The commissioners agreed to do some offline work on goals and return to the next meeting
prepared to discuss the item.
2. Consider installation of public telephone in Civic Center near Cupertino Library.
Commissioner Riddell said that at some point the Commission should invite a member of the
Library Commission to speak on the issue. All of the commissioners agreed and indicated
that getting a telephone installed was a high priority. A lively discussion ensued.
NEW BUSINESS
3. Tour of Cupertino Fire Station
The Commission was led on a tour of the newest Cupertino fire station. The station staff
explained and. demonstrated the use of the vehicles and equipment. The commission was
impressed with the living, working, and exercise areas in the attractive, modern facility.
REPORTS
Santa Clara County Sheriff - Capt. Hirokawa recapped the preceding month's crime statistics.
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS - The commissioners requested that the Old Business items be continued
to the next meeting.
