Subject: Art in the library
Mike, As I mentioned in my phone message to you, I did call Susanna Tsai, of the Library Commission, and
asked her to call Mary-Anne, the librarian, to clarify her current thinking on allowing some art in the library. Here
is the response e-mail I received from Susanna after she talked to Mary-Anne. Guess there is not much more
we can do there at this time. Janet Mohr
Hi Janet,
After talking to Mary-Anne regarding painting display,
Mary-Anne said that the library just finished the wall
furnishing project and don't consider any display now.
Sorry for this information. But you may try Saragota
Library because they always accept the display
application and arrange schedule. Once, my friend had
displayed school students' art works. I am very sorry
and cannot help you further.
Cordially
Susanna Tsai

City Clerk
Fine Arts Commission meeting tonight
Hi Kim,
Hope all is well with you.
Could you please get the following information to the Fine Arts Commissioners for their
meeting tonight? Many thanks.
Best,
Jan

Dear Fine Arts Commissioners,
I understand that tonight at your Fine Arts Commission meeting you will consider
requesting an increased budget at the 5/31 City Council study session and subsequent
public hearings. For many years, the Euphrat Museum of Art received funding from the
City, usually around $6000 - $8000. We presented you annual reports. When finances
became difficult a few years ago, this funding ceased. We
understood. We held on, persevered, and continued to provide
multiple services to the community.
This year other cities are increasing their funding, supporting their art museums. From
years of partnership with the city, you know of our outreach. Please consider adding the
Euphrat Museum of Art in your request for increased funds from the city.
Your advocacy for the Euphrat Museum of Art would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jan Rindfleisch
