Reso 5053 2-GPA-98 i CITY OF CUPERTINO 10300 Torre Avenue Cupertino, California 95014 RESOLUTION NO. 5053 (Minute Order) OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO RECOMMENDING AMENDMENTS TO GENERAL PLAN POLICY 2-33 REGARDING NEIGHBORHOOD GATEWYS AND PAGE 6-17 REGARDING ACCESS TO RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENTS AND TO CHAPTER 16.28 OF THE CUPERTINO MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING ELECTRONIC SECURITY GATES The Planning Commission recommends the amendments found in Echibits A and B based on the following findings: Electronic security gates should be discouraged because they isolate developments, which creates a negative influence on community identity, and they impede emergency service personnel. Electronic security gates do not need to be regulated for single residential lots because a single gated lot does not create an isolated community. Electronic security gates do not need to be regulated for other residential developments that meet three specific conditions because these conditions are unique.
