CALL TO ORDER
Commissioner Do called the meeting to order at 6:07 pm at the Quinlan
Community Center, 10185 N. Stelling Road, Cupertino, CA.

NEW BUSINESS
a) Rick Kitson- presentation regarding Commissioner's role and
significance: Rick Kitson encouraged commissioners to show -up, be
accountable, and representative of the City.
b) Overview
a. Work plan: commissioners generated a list of potential activities
and projects to involve themselves in for the 2011 -2012 term.
Items selected are as follows: Tobacco Prevention grant work/
YAC Attack, Giving Tree, increasing Teen Center awareness,
Senior Center/ intergenerational activity, W.O.W.
b. Calendar
c. Chair Et Vice Chair responsibilities: discussion and handout of
expectations
c) Tobacco Prevention Grant Work
a. Introduction of Margarita Mendoza
b. Presentation by: Commissioners Sachs, Hemmady and Do:
commissioners heard a brief history of the grant as well as plans
for the execution of grant requirements
c. YAC Social presentation discussion: commissioners are energetic
about bringing artwork and concept ideas to 9/28 meeting for a t-
shirt design draft
d) Retreat ideas: BBQ lunch at Blackberry Farm on 9/18
e) Establish meeting time: commissioner Sachs motioned for 2011 -2012
term meeting start time to be set at 6:15 pm. Commissioner Hemmady
seconds motion. Potion passes unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
MISCELLANEOUS —NO ACTION REQUIRED
a) Recreation brochure survey: postponed to 10/12 meeting
b) Halloween movie volunteer opportunity, October 28 commissioners
heard about volunteer opportunity to support the recreation
department's Cinema in the Shadows movie event.
c) Group photo
ADJOURNMENT
At 8:46 pm the Teen Commission adjourned to a REGULAR MEETING on
Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 6:15 prn to be held at Quinlan Community
Center, 10185 N. Stelling Road.
