RESOLUTION NO. 4929 (Minute Order)
OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO
TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO REQUESTING
A REVIEW OF GENERAL PLAN POLICIES RELATED TO SECURITY GATES
` ------------------------- =-----=_____________________________----------
------------------------- ----------
General Plan policy 2-33 discourages the use of private residential security gates because it isolates
neighborhoods from one another. Additionally, General Plan policy 6-17 discourages security gates if
they act as a barrier to emergency service personnel. In light of recent approvals of security gates at
apartment complexes in Cupertino, the Planning Commission requests that a public hearing be set to
discuss these policies to ensure consistency with development approvals.
