Reso 4807 CITY OF CUPERTINO 10300 Torre Avenue Cupertino, California 95014 RESOLUTION NO. 4807 (Minute Order) OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO TO THE CITY OF SAN JOSE REGARDING THE PROPOSED HOME DEPOT AT S. DE ANZA BOULEVARD AND BOLLINGER ROAD The Planning Commission requests that the City of San Jose consider the following recommendations: The proposed Home Depot is more industrial in character than typical commercial uses, and is not an appropriate use in this location due to its proximity to residential development. A different use is preferred, which would not impact the adjacent Cupertino residential neighborhoods. If the City of San Jose chooses to allow a Home Depot on this site, then the building should be redesigned and moved closer to De Anza Boulevard to reduce the impacts on the adjacent neighborhoods. Truck traffic should not be allowed in the rear alley. As stated, the building should be moved forwaxd to avoid the close proximity of trucks and loading docks to the residences. The loading and lumber docks and the trash compactor should not be adj acent to the residences. Left turn movements from Bollinger Road on to De Anza Blvd. should be monitored. A condition of approval should require that the applicant contribute to improvements should they be required. Trucks with diesel engines should turn them off during loading operations. The west wall should be softened, or it should be lowered, based on the assumption that an 11' wall is not needed if the loading areas are moved further away from the residences. Conditions of approval should require control of debris and vectors. Employee "pep rallies" should be conducted inside the building.
