OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO
APPROVING A FINAL LANDSCAPING AND SITE PLAN FOR
SYMANTEC CITY CENTER 5(CCS) BUILDING
SECTION I: PROJECT DESCRIPTION

SECTION II: FINDINGS
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Cupertino received an application for
Architectural and Site Approval, as described in this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission finds that the:
a) That the use is in conformance with the General Plan of the City of Cupertino, and is not
detrimental to existing uses or to uses specifically permitted in the zone in which the proposed use
is to be located.
b) That the property involved is adequate in size and shape to accommodate the proposed use.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
That after careful consideration of maps, facts, exhibits, testimony and other evidence submitted in this
matter, the application for landscaping and site plan approval is hereby approved; and
That the subconclusions upon which the findings and conditions specified in this Resolution are based
and contained in the public hearing record concerning Application No. 21-ASA-96 as set forth in the
Minutes of Planning Commission Meeting of January 13, 1997, and are incorporated by reference
herein.
SECTION III• CONDITIONS ADMINISTERED BY THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPT.
1. APPROVED EXHIBITS
The approval is granted based upon exhibits L-1.1 and L-1.2 dated 1/6/97 and 12/26/96 as may be
amended by additional conditions contained herein.

2. RELATIONSHIP TO USE PERMIT APPLICATION 11-U-96
The ASA application relates to site design and landscape architecture. The building setbacks,
heights, and configuration defined by the approved conditions and design documents contained in
use permit 11-U-95.
3. PUBLIC ART
As provided by Condition 7 of Use Permit 11-U-96, the required public art shall be generally
located as described on drawing L-1.1. The height of said art piece shall be limited to one-half
the height of the building (not including mechanical space). The art shall be approved by the
City Council following a recommendation by the Fine Art Commission.
4. SIGNS
The sign, including base, shall be no higher than 4 feet measured from grade.

Commission of the City of Cupertino, State of California, by the following roll call vote:
