� OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CUPERTINO,
APPROVING A WALL SIGN AND A SIGN EXCEPTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 17.44
SECTION I: PROJECT DESCRIPTION
AR,nlication 7-ASA-96 - Sears Roebuck & Co.: Requesting architectural review for approval of a wall sign and
a sign exception for a project located at 10001 North De Anza Boulevard.
SECTION II: FINDINGS
A. That the literal enforcement of the provisions of this ordinance will result in restrictions inconsistent
with the spirit and intent of this ordinance;
B. That the granting of the exception will not result in a condition which is materially detrimental to
the public health, safety, or welfare; and
, C. That the exception to be granted is one that will require the least modification of the prescribed
regulations and the minimum variance that will accomplish the purpose.

1. APPROVED EXHIBITS:
The approval is based on the Site and Elevation Plans titled "Site Plan, pg. A-0" dated April 25, 1996 and "A-
2", dated March 1996.

2. HEIGHT OF LOGO SIGN:
The Jiffy Lube "J" logo sign on the north side of the building will be restricted to a height of 36 inches.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 28th day of May 1996 at a Regular Meeting of the Planning Commission of the
City of Cupertino, State of California, by the following roll call vote:
