RESOLUTION NO. 4517
OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF TI� CITY OF CUPERTINO
RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 19.96, PARKING AND
KEEPING VEHICLES IN VARIOUS ZONES, AND CHAPTER 11.29 ON-SITE PARKING, OF THE
C UPERTINO MUNICIPAL CODE
SECTION L• FINDINGS
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Cupertino requested the amendment of the ordinances, as
described on this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, the necessary public notices have been given in accordance with the Procedural Ordinance of the City of
Cupertino, and the Planning Commission has held one or more public hearings on the subject application; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission finds that the subject municipal code amendments are:
• Consistent with the Cupertino General Plan and its supporting documents;
• Necessary for the protection of the public health, safety, and welfare; and
• Necessary to regulate the parking of vehicles which are unsightly or oversized, or which are detrimental to the
property values or peace and enjoyment of neighboring property owners or residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

That after careful consideration of maps, facts, eaLhibits, testimony and other evidence submitted in this matter, the
application for amending the Cupertino Municipal Code is hereby recommended for approval;
That Subsection 11.29.040 A.1.(g, h, and i) and Subsection 19.96.030 A.1.(f, g, and h) be added to read as follows:
11.29.040 A 1:
g. Except on lots with circular driveways which conform to the provisions of this code, all vehicles parked in
the front or street side yard setback area must be parked perpendicular to the street. On lots with circular
driveways which conform to the provisions of this code, all vehicles parked in the front or street side yard
setback area are limited to less than 20 feet in length, unless parked perpendicular to the street.
h. Vehicles in excess of 33 feet in length are not permitted in the front setback area.
i. Trailers, campers, recreational vehicles or utility vehicles stored for longer than a 14 day period must be
owned by an occupant of the dwelling.
19.96.030 Al:
