Wf�FAS, the City Cauncil directed, at their meeting of January 2, 1990,
that the subject zonirig districts be a�mended to include installation of
front yard landscaping in new or substantially remodeled construction
projects in said zones; aryd
Wf�EAS, the nec�essary public natices have been given in accordance with
I the Procedural Ordinanc.e of the City of Cupertino, and the Planning
Conunission has held one or more Public Hearings on the subject
application:
NOW, �iORE, BE IT RESOLUID:
That after careful consideration of facts, exhi.bits, testimony and other
evidence suk.mitted in this matter, the Caa�rnnission makes the follawing
( findings in support of its rec�nnnendation that no further action be taken
` on this matter:
1) The proposed landacaping installation rec��irements, as described in
E�ibit A attached hereto, violate the privele�ges of the owners of
single family detached residential propexties to maintain front yard
areas as they desire.
2) The proposed ordinance amer�dtt�ent creates an undue achninistrative
� burden with regard to plan chec3cing and inspec.�tion
3) 'Ihere has been insufficient demonstration of the existence of a
problem which requires a solution of the magnitude suggested by the
Proposed amenchnent .
4) Unim�aginative and substaixlard landscaping are likely to be installed
to meet the Ordinance requirements, and then removed at a later time
resulting in unwarranted costs and waste of materials.

refere.rx�e as though fully set forth herein.
