The City Council met on September 7, 20"LO and discussed the following item(s) of
interest to the Planning Commission:
1. Fence Ordinance - Electronic gates - Cii y Council directed staff to administratively
remove the word "electronic" in refere�lce to driveway gates and to continue working
with the existing Code Enforcement ca:;es within the scope of the Fence Ordinance.
The City Council met on September 21, 2i110 and discussed the following item(s) of
interest to the Planning Commission:
1. North Vallco Master Plan - City Council directed staff to initiate two public outreach
meetings to consider: adding up to 500, 000 square feet of commercial allocation
citywide in the General Plan, to specific�ally look at allowing large-format regional
commercial uses in the North Vallco ar�a, and take public input on other possibilities.

of Sciences in recognition of his Antarctic services.
The couple had two children, Jill and Kenneth. The
two purchased their current Cupertino home in
1961.
Burnett passed away at home under the care of his
wife Nancy and son Ken Burnett, with support from
Hospice of the Valley. His daughter Jill Staten was
also at home with her father during his final days.
He is survived by his brother John Burnett of
Hermosa Beach, and half-sister, Claudia Sumler of
Baltimore, Maryland, as well as granddaughters
Alina and Holly Staten, and son-in-law Troy Staten
of Alameda.
Nancy said that rather than a funeral service, a
celebration of Don's life and his accomplishments is
in the works.
