Boltage Program @ schoolsPage I of 2 Tamara Pow From: David Greenstein [dgreenster@gmail.com] Sent: Thursday, July 08, 2010 10:02 AM To: Lesley Reid Cc: Tamara Pow Subject: Re: Boltage Update Please Hi Tamara, We have made some progress at Lincoln and Kennedy on Boltage by the time school ended. Neither Lincoln nor Kennedy is ready to show anything to the Courier yet. Let's get them involved in October. At Lincoln, the zapper pole was installed in May and I was there to make sure it was a good spot. The district submitted the order for zapper units in late May and we instructed Boltage to send them directly to our installer, Jon Simms at Team Logic IT. Jon will ready them for installation this August. I have enlisted the help of the Lincoln PTA president and vice president for help with the rollout. At Kennedy, we had Jon Simms and Cathy Stokes choose the two sites for zapper poles. The district was coordinating pole installation with Lincoln, but I' have not confirmed Kennedy's were installed. Lesley brought expert Suzanne Ambiel to Kennedy's PTA meeting in May to present the Boltage system. It was received warmly. Cathy did get the students to come up with a name for the system, "Cat Scan". We need to bat this name around to see if it works for everyone. Cathy did leave for another school Since school ended I have been busy taking college classes and student teaching at Los Altos High. Yesterday was my last teaching day until August 23. During that time I will work with Lesley on the Boltage project. Please let us know if you have any questions. The new assistant principal at Kennedy is Kit Bragg, and he is just getting settled there. I asked Cathy if the poles have been installed, and she wasn't sure, but said she thinks the district has marked where they go... I will ask Kit, or just go by there myself and check. Unfortunately, with the change at Kennedy, I have to wait for Kit to get settled and then get going on the program. David has been busy with his student teaching, but once he is done with that (today, I think!), we will meet and get going on the graphical info. It looks like we will be doing much of our spending in Aug. I would love to talk with Matt Wilson about the program. The more exposure we get, the better!
