Stelling Road, Cupertino, CA. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ROLL CALL Commissioners present: Szeto, Liu, Menon, Ramachandran, Sengupta, Samar, Shah Tardy Commissioners: Bhagi, Damodar, Goyal Absent Commissioners: Lim Staff present: Phillips MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETINGS Regular meeting: February 24, 2010 Ramachandran motioned to approve the minutes. Liu seconds. Motion passes. COMMUNICATIONS a) Oral b) Written NEW BUSINESS a) Focus plan for WOW activity - Commission will focus on the three middle schools in Cupertino to support for the WOW activity. b) Teen Commission candidate activity - Commissioners brainstormed and discussed key characteristics of what a Teen Commissioner should exemplify. c) Assign/ discuss recruitment responsibllities - Arrangements for high and middle school visits are being made, commissioners will speak with students at each school, sharing experiences and encouraging those with an interest to apply for the 2010 -2012 term. - Homestead: Goyal - Cupertino High: Menon - Kennedy: Ramachandran - Hyde: Shah - Lawson: Samar d) Discuss Teen Photo Shoot details - Teen Center will host an informal photo shoot on April 3, 2010. Commissioners and their peers are invited to participate. OLD BUSINESS MISCELLANEOUS— NO ACTION REQUIRED a) Share experiences from YAC Attack - Commissioners who attended the YAC Attack conference on March 6th shared their thoughts on the event. Commission members felt it was a successful and we El informative day/ event. b) High school dance update - Commission is prepared to host their high school dance, Remember Red on Friday, March. 19th.
