CALL TO ORDER
Commissioner Szeto called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm at Quinlan Community
Center, 10185 N. Stelling Road, Cupertino, CA.

MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETINGS
Regular meeting: December 9, 2009
Damodar motioned to approve the minutes. Sh:~h seconds. Motion passes
COMMUNICATIONS
a) Oral
b) Written: Cupertino Library has a variety of activities for teens going on. Teen
Librarian, Dolly Goyal sent information about programs such as Healthy
Cooking, Music contest, and Essay contest.
NEW BUSINESS
a) Set dates for upcoming events
- YAC Attack conference, Saturday, March 6~
- High School Dance, Friday, March 19~
- Senior Ball, TBA
b) Decide on new poll question for teen website: Commissioner Bhagi suggested
using the NFL Playoff games, and having teens guess who will win the Super
Bowl.
OLD BUSINESS
MISCELLANEOUS-NO ACTION REQUIRET;~
a) Media relations presentation by Rick Kitson: Mr. Kitson spoke to the
Commission about the importance of the Teen Commission, the role of a
Commissioner, and possible interactions with the media.
b) Walk-to-School sub-committee update: ~`omm;ssioner Samar shared the WOW
Kit draft with the Commission. This Kit can be given to schools without an active
walk-to-school program.
c) Giving Tree reflection: Commissioners weighed in on their feelings and
impressions from the December 17~ event. Most commissioners felt their time
and effort was well spent and enjoyed participating in the event for the 3=d year.
d) Teen Center event reflection: Commissioner Ramachandran shared the event
plane;r,g details but was unable to comment on the execution of the event. The
date and riming of the scheduled event was examined as a result of low
attendance.
ADJOURNMENT
At 8:36 pm meeting adjourned to a REGULAR ]MEETING on Wednesday, January 27,
2010 at 7:00 pm.
