BPC 09-16-09MINUTES OF THF: REGULAR MEETING OF THE BICYCLE PEDESTRIAN COMMISSION September 16, 2009 CUPERTINO The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. ROLL CALL Present: Takahashi, Wiant, Paulsen Absent: Fantozzi, Walton (ex officio) Staff: Hannah Chow, Civil Engineer Note: All items addressed at the September 2009 meeting were passed unanimously. Done OLD BUSINESS 2 TOPIC RESOLUTION Bicycle Transportation Plan status Various comments were given to Commissioner Wiant for incorporation into the Plan. - Mary Ave. as a hub. Green Leaf would be a better terminus for the bike route ,approaching the bridge, since there is no light at Valley Green. - Mariani Ave eastbound is clogged Placed on "Hot List" during rush hour. - De Anza Trail "Cupe;rtino Knoll" defined. '' - Monta Vista Park (table 1) Some work has been done. - Bubb Bike Dine is timed. - McClellan (p38) Use Meteor instead - Stevens Creek Need (coordination - p. 39 -Bicycle Ordinance Should be part of Municipal Code - Education Keep in -Enforcement Make :mandatory near schools Regnart Creek Trail library segment Put in Plan - Mandate for companies with > 100 employees to provide alternate transportation Delete. - Resource Kit Commissioner Wiant will get information. - p65: Festival and education Combine into some kind of annual event. 3. Proposed Bike/Pedestrian path along Put in the Plan Regnart Creek behind library. 4 Bicycle Education Status No ch;~nge since last month. A course will be held in Octob~;r in the Senior Center, and in November to PTA's. Commissioner Wiant will forward this to Commissioner Takahashi. 5 Discuss locations for 12 single bike The B PC recommended three racks each at: racks received from the VTA and submit -The `ienior Center recommendations to Hannah Chow, -Blackberry Farm Public Works -The Cupertino Library - Peen; Coffee/Panera Bakery -preferably in front 6.
