CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Lee called the meeting to ~~rder at 7:01 p.m. in the Community Hall Council Chamber, 10350 Torre AvenuE;, Cupertino, CA. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 3. ROLL CALL Commissioners present: David Lee, Darcy Paul, Jeanne Bradford, and David Greenstein Commissioners absent: Debbie Stephens Stauffer Staff present: Julia Lamy, Donna Henriques and Karen Goss 4. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETIPJGS A. Regular meeting of August 6, 2009 Action: Commissioner Bradford made a motion to approve the minutes. Commissioner Greenstein seconded the motion. The motion carried 4 - 0. 5. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Commissioner Greenstein said that because of an erroneous picture in the August 5, 2009 Cupertino Courier of a family .seeding the ducks and birds in Memorial Park, he wanted an item to be placed o~i the next meeting agenda to discuss this issue. 6. PRESENTATION A. Parks and Recreation Program upd,~te by Karen Goss, Case Manager at the Senior Center. Karen Goss gave a presentation regarding the Senior Case Management Program that is offered through the Cupertino Senior Center. 7. OLD BUSINESS A. Verbal update, by Julia Lamy, on off-leash areas in City parks and on a fenced dog park at Stevens Creek County Park Senior Recreation Supervisor Julia Lamy gave a verbal update on the outcome of the September 1 City Council meeting and the recent Citizens Group meetings. Two residents asked to speak ors this issue: Cecil Coe asked the Commission about alternative off-leash areas and expressed concern over seeing off-leash dogs in Jollyman Park after 9:00 p.m. and he said he was concerned as to who to call to enforce the rules after hours. Kuo-Lon Soong said she lives iti the Linda Vista Parks area and she is concerned that many residents iii her neighborhood are uninformed about the off-leash trial sites. She also expressed concern about the safety of residents in the park if dogs are off-leash. 8. MISCELLANEOUS - NO ACTION REQUIRED A. Staff oral reports - Julia Lamy said that next Thursday evening, September 10 at 6:30 pm, is the Commissioners dinner for all Commissioners. She also said that the Commissioners are invited to ab:end a Volunteer Recognition Luncheon on Saturday, September 12 at 1 l :00 am at the Senior Center. B. Commissioner contacts - none 9.
