Organization Continued
•For the past two years, starting from April
2022 our organization was officially
launched.
•The organization consists of over twenty
core members, however we have a
volunteer program and provide
opportunities for their students to get
involved through their written works and
advocacy.
How Many Events?
•10 events/programs. Tino Eco have tabled
at 3 events: Cupertino 2022 Night Market,
FUHSD 2024 Earth Day Festival, City of
Cupertino 2024 Earth Day Festival; ran 1
competition: Carbon Footprint
Competition; ran 2 events: Carbon
Footprint Competition Award Ceremony,
Clothing Fundraiser; and is currently running
4 programs: Adopt A Park, Publication,
Podcast, and Recycling Fundraiser.
What Does the Organization Do?
•Our organization serves participants in
person and virtually. Our Adopt a Park
program is an in-person volunteering
opportunity while the publication/podcast
program is a virtual program. These
programs help us interact with the public
directly and create a strong community to
fight for environmental justice.
How Does the Organization Engage
Participants?
•Adopt A Park provides members with a
consistent bi-weekly volunteer opportunity
to clean up and beautify Rainbow Park. By
writing articles on climate/environmental
topics to be published on Medium and
designing a short snippet to be posted on
the Tino Eco Instagram account, members
can join the Tino Eco Publication Team and
take part in spreading awareness.
What are the Plans for the After Graduation?
•Tino Eco aims to maintain its status as a high-
school led organization. To ensure a smooth
transition of leadership, we have established
a trainee program to prepare trainees for
their designated role once current officers
graduate from high school. Tino Eco is also
planning to make a board of directors with
old officers to manage more legal stuff like
finally making Tino Eco a non-profit and also
give the new officers advice.
What Makes the Organization Unique?
•Tino Eco engages the public with a series of
different platforms such as volunteer
events, articles, and podcasts. Over the
past years of our creation, we have built
platforms to strive for something the youth
finds to be a problem: inclusivity. As a result,
we have programs that are inclusive for all
ages, genders, religions, etc.–anyone can
jump in anytime or anywhere.
What Makes the Organization Unique?
•In addition, different talents and interests
are also encouraged. Strong writers have
the opportunity to voice their opinions
through publication, orators can speak at
public forum events, and anyone genuinely
passionate for the environment can take
part in our hands-on activities whether they
are interested in art, governance,
engineering, or literature.
Why should Teen Commission Highlight the
Organization?
•Tino Eco not only provides opportunities for youth
to be involved in their community but also
accessible and comprehensible resources for
everyone to learn more about the environment.
The Teen Commission values organizations that
bring out the best in youth and make an
everlasting impact on the community; thus, with
the issues we have faced with the climate
change movement, Tino Eco has been a strong
supporter of greater change.
Why should Teen Commission Highlight the
Organization?
•Climate change continues to be the
biggest overarching issue towards mankind
while environmental propaganda and
doomism continues to spread. Tino Eco, for
the past years, has been tackling those
issues through spreading environmental
literacy which we believe is a necessity.
