ROLL CALL Present: Biswari, Chen, Hu, Lau, Liu, Misra, Mukherjee, Su. Absent: Garg. Staff: Sonya Lee, Robert Kaufman, Lauren Sapudar. CEREMONIAL MATTERS AND PRESENTATIONS 1. Subject: Swearing-in Ceremony for Incoming 2024-2026 Teen Commissioners Recommended Action: Swear in the four incoming Teen Commissioners for the 2024- 2026 term. Commissioners Hu, Lau, Liu, and Misra were sworn in for the 2024-2026 term. 2. Subject: Teen Commission Orientation Recommended Action: Receive an overview of the Commissioner's Handbook from City Clerk. Commissioners received a presentation from Deputy City Clerk, Lauren Sapudar. 3. Subject: Teen Organizations Presentation Recommended Action: Receive a presentation on each of the Teen Organizations from representatives from Teen Commission, Youth Activity Board (YAB), Recreation Event Volunteers (REV), and Recreation Coordinator, Robert Kaufman. Commissioners received a presentation on the four teen groups – Teen Commission, YAB, REV, and Leaders in Training (LIT). 8 Cupertino Teen Commission Minutes September 11, 2024 Staff Liaison Lee further emphasized the importance of the Teen Commission in representing their fellow community teens, and that staff counts on the teens to help get the word out about teen programs and events. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 4. Subject: Approval of Minutes – August 14, 2024 Recommended Action: Review and approve the minutes from the Teen Commission meeting on August 14, 2024. Commissioner Biswari moved to approve the August meeting minutes as submitted. Commissioner Chen seconded the motion. Motion carried with 7 yes and 1 absent. POSTPONEMENTS No postponements. Subject: 2024-2025 Chair and Vice Chair Selection Recommended Action: Select a Chair and Vice Chair for the 2024-2025 Teen Commission term. Commissioner Biswari was voted in as the 2024-2025 term Chair. Commissioner Chen was voted in as the 2024-2025 term Vice Chair.
