LEGAL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA, on the 26th of July, 1999, at 6:45 p.m. in the Council
Chambers of City Hall, 10300 Torre Avenue is hereby given. The following applications for
action by the Planning Commission will be heard:
1. Application No.(s): 15-EA-99 Amendment to R-1 Ordinance (Chapter 19.28)
Applicant: City of Cupertino
Location: Citywide
1. Consideration of applying the Residential Hillside Standards to the R-1 zoning
districts for development on slopes greater than 30%
2. Consideration of requiring tree planting in front and side yards for new development
3. Consideration of establishing design standards to address garages and side orientated
residences facing the street
4. Review of privacy protection landscaping
5. Amendment of story pole requirements to include exceptions
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: Negative Declaration recommended
The project will have no significant, adverse environmental effects

Consideration of amendments to add protection of trees required for privacy protection
and landscape screening on R-1 lots and to add new tree species to the list of protected
trees.
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: Categorically exempt
3. Application No.(s): Amend Title 19 regarding definition of new construction
Applicant: City of Cupertino
Location: Citywide
Consideration of amendments to determine what is considered a remodel vs. replacement
on new construction.
