The Plan, which sets out goals and priorities for the future, will span FY2023-2028, and was developed with input from library staff, stakeholders, commissioners, and most importantly, our communities. The community feedback was collected through in-person and virtual town hall meetings, interviews, community feedback boards, focus groups, and a multi-lingual survey that gathered thousands of responses from patrons and residents across the Library District about what types of services they most appreciate and need. NEW VISION: The Santa Clara County Library District aspires to be an inclusive space where everyone feels welcomed, supported in their lifelong learning, and energized to help us evolve as a community. We will work to create a world in which access to knowledge, resources, and opportunities is guaranteed to all. NEW MISSION: At Santa Clara County Library District, YOU BELONG. CONNECT. DISCOVER. The Strategic Planning page on the library’s website has more details and a downloadable booklet will be available in early February in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Chinese. SCCLD’s plans for the next five fiscal years are outlined around the District-level priorities to Welcome, Inspire, Listen, and Innovate. There are 3-4 specific goals listed under each priority, which are direct reflections of the research and community feedback. These key priorities demonstrate the way that SCCLD libraries are integrated into their communities. Updates will be added to the website quarterly to capture and communicate our progress in the work. PRIORITIES: WELCOME: We welcome all, providing inclusive and compassionate library service throughout the district. LISTEN: We listen, valuing the voices of our patrons, our communities, and our partners. INSPIRE: We inspire, building the foundations of literacy with our community. INNOVATE: We innovate, fostering a culture of curiosity and opportunity.
