Dear Housing Commission and Staff,
This is just a recap of what I just said on this item:
ITEM2 – New Business
2 TYPO:
last paragraph 1st line should say “providing funding” (change proving to providing)
last paragraph 3rd line should say “agenda the discussion OF policies”
I’m whole heartedly in favor and support the proposed memorandum to the City Council AND Chair Parish’s motion to
add actions, Commissioner’s Cunningham’s friendly amendment to preserve and minimize displacement BUT not put
her other ideas in this memorandum because it requires much more discussion!
The recent joint sessions of PC and HC have been very helpful. Your involvement as a commission means more
opportunity for public discussion and comments.
Assisting the PC and CC in developing housing policies and strategies is critical!
Meeting with Non-Profit Groups actively providing funding assistance will expose you to new ideas and strategies that
could work here in Cupertino.
In recommending policies for implementation and monitoring of affordable housing projects please consider
The use of the fraud/abuse hotline for BMR housing residents who may be afraid to report issues they are facing
for fear of retaliation or loss of housing.
After HE done, HC should continue these activities.
Yearly BMR count and availability – including what will be lost and when due to expiring their BMR periods.
Thank you all so much for your work on this subject.
Sincerely,
Peggy Griffin
